174th Attack Wing medical group gets new commander during Dec. 3 ceremony

Syracuse New York (12/07/2022) — New York Air National Guard Lt. Col. Misty Looney assumed command of the 174th Attack Wing's Medical Group during a change of command ceremony held on Dec. 3, 2022 at Hancock Field Air National Guard Base.

Looney, a Washington D.C. resident who formerly served as the Chief of the Air National Guard's Public Heath and Prevention Branch, replaced Col. Roxellen Auletto as the commander of the 174th Medical Group.

Col. William McCrink III, the wing commander, oversaw the change of command ceremony.

Looney has served with the 96th Medical Group at Eglin Air Force Base, the 186th Air Refueling Wing, 172 Air Lift Wing, the 99th Medical Group at Nellis Air Force Base, and National Guard Bureau, Air National Guard Readiness Center at Joint Base Andrews, MD.

Her awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air and Space Commendation Medal, Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Nuclear Deterrence Service Operations Medal.
