Carissa Lombardo, originally from Saugerties, N.Y. and now a Jersey City, N.J. resident promoted to staff sergeant in Army National Guard
Latham, NY (09/13/2018) — Carissa Lombardo, a Jersey City, New Jersey resident, has been promoted to the rank of staff sergeant in the New York Army National Guard.
Lombardo, who grew up in Saugerties, N.Y., enlisted in the New York Army National Guard in 2012.
She was promoted during a
Qualified as an intelligence analyst, Lombardo deployed to Kuwait in 2016 and 2017 with the 369th Sustainment Brigade. She has also served in the New York Army National Guard's 42nd Combat Aviation Brigade.
Lombardo currently serves in the New York National Guard's Counterdrug Task Force. Prior to joining the New York National Guard she worked as a special education teacher.
Lombardo holds a Masters Degree in Special Education and Literacy from the State University of New York, Albany and a Bachelors Degree in Music Therapy from the State University of New York, New Paltz.
Her awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
She is the daughter of John and Linda Lombardo.
