Former NY Army National Guard Sgt. Victoria Marbot, a Hoosick Falls resident, is recognized for service

Latham, NY (05/03/2019) — Former New York Army National Guard Sergeant Victoria Marbot, a Hoosick Falls resident, was recently awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in recognition of 11 years of service with the New York Army National Guard.

Marbot, who enlisted in the New York Army National Guard in 2007, served as motor transport operator in the 147th Transportation Company in Queensbury as a heavy vehicle driver.

In 2014 she was assigned to the Military Personnel Office at New York Army National Guard Headquarters in Latham.

While assigned to military personnel she tracked the Army National Guard Health Services Budget, reviewed and processed 2,300 line of duty injury and illness investigations, and trained new employees on how to deal with medical issues.

Marbot's other awards include the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal.

She was also awarded a trophy to mark her service with the military personnel officer during the May 2, 2019 ceremony by Lt. Col. James Cahill, the New York Army National Guard's military personnel director.
