Free Army National Guard band concert location changed to Niskayuna High School due to weather

The 42nd Infantry Division Band was to perform at Schenectady's Central Park on Friday, August 9

Niskayuna, New York (08/07/2024) — A free New York Army National Guard band concert set for Schenectady's Central Park on Friday, August 9, has been moved to Niskayuna High School due to weather.

The 42nd Infantry Division Band will now perform in the high school auditorium at 1626 Balltown Road.

The free concert will still begin at 7 p.m.

The band has been playing a series of concerts in the area.

The band performs at Corinth Central High School on Wednesday August 7 at 7 p.m. They will also perform at Shepard's Park in Lake George on Thursday, August 8 at 9 p.m. in conjunction with fireworks show.

The 90 minute performances will feature music from World War II, the movies, modern concert arrangements, big band music, Latin tunes, patriotic music, and traditional military tunes.

The band, which is stationed at Camp Smith Training Site near Peekskill, breaks down into concert, brass quintet, jazz, brass and commercial music performance teams and all of these will perform.
