Jennifer Lammon, a Latham resident, retires after 39 years as a National Guard civilian employee.

Latham, New York (05/23/2024) — Jennifer Lammon, a Latham resident who worked in New York Army National Guard's Directorate of Operations and Training has retired after 39 years as a federal employee.

Lammon was honored during a retirement ceremony held at New York National Guard Headquarters in Latham.

She has served as the funds manager for the operations and training directorate since 1989.

Through her years of service, Lammon has executed over two billion dollars of funding in support of New York Army National Guard training and operations.

She has supported mission funding for the Gulf War, 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, the COVID-19 pandemic, and countless collective training events.

Maj. Gen. Michel Natali, the assistant adjutant general, Army, praised Lammon for her hard work, ethics, expertise, and dedication.

"We will sincerely miss having you in our day-to-day operations, and your tireless efforts will be nearly impossible to replicate," said Lt. Col. Shawn Tabankin, the deputy operations officer of operations and training for the New York Army National Guard.

Natali presented Lammon with the New York State Conspicuous Service Medal in recognition of her service.

Lammon's service for the federal government started in 1985 in the Connecticut Army National Guard. There, she served in positions within human resources, facilities, and military pay.

In 1989, she transferred to the New York Army National Guard, where she spent the rest of her career as a fund's manager for the directorate of operations and training.

In her remarks, Lammon praised all the people she has worked with within the organization and how they made it enjoyable and worthwhile to work with them every day.

She also thanked her husband Scott, and daughters Sara and Kate, and son Owen for their years of support.
