Two CH-47F Chinook heavy lift helicopters assigned to B Company of the 3rd Battalion, 126th General Support Aviation Battalion, will be transporting 45 Airmen from the base to the New York National Guard's Youngstown Local Training Area on Friday, April 10.
The Airmen will be conducting a readiness training exercise at the training area over the weekend.
The CH-47 flights will take place on Friday morning.
People in the area may notice the large, tandem-rotor helicopters, which may be flying at lower altitudes as part of the training scenario.
This joint exercise ensures that Army and Air National Guard units can work together seamlessly and effectively. This type of training is critical for maintaining a high state of readiness for both state and federal missions.
We have coordinated this training to minimize public impact. The patience and understanding of our neighbors are greatly appreciated as we conduct this essential training.
