NY Army National Guard Capt. Daniel Baek, a Woodside, Queens resident, receives Army Commendation Medal

Camp Smith Training Site (11/05/2018) — New York Army National Guard Capt. Daniel Baek, a resident of Woodside, Queens, was awarded the Army Commendation Medal during a ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 4 at Camp Smith Training Site near Peekskill.

Baek, a lawyer, serves as deputy staff judge advocate for the New York Army National Guard's 53rd Troop Command. The 53rd Troop Command is made up of 4,000 Soldiers in military police, engineer, signal and logistical support units located across New York from Long Island to Buffalo.

As a staff judge advocate, Baek is responsible for providing legal advice on a variety of issues to Brig. General Michel Natali, the commander of the 53rd Troop Command.

The Army Commendation Medal is presented for outstanding service.

Baek, who was commissioned into the Army in October 2014, was presented with the award by Col. Isabel Smith, the Chief of Staff of the 53rd Troop Command.
