Poughkeepsie resident Thomas Frost is promoted to Captain in New York Army National Guard

Troy, N.Y. (01/24/2018) — Thomas Frost, a Poughkeepsie resident, was promoted to Captain in the New York Army National Guard during a promotion ceremony at 42nd Infantry Division headquarters in Troy, N.Y. on Jan. 7, 2018.

Frost, who has been a member of the New York Army National Guard since 2011, serves in the Operations Company of the 42nd Infantry Division.

Based in Troy, N.Y. the division headquarters is configured to command up to 20,000 Army combat and combat service support Soldiers. The 42nd Infantry Division was born in 2017 during World War I. The division has been part of the New York Army National Guard since 1947. In 2005 the division was responsible for 23,000 Army, Army Reserve, and Army National Guard troops deployed in North Central Iraq.
