Queensbury, N.Y.- (07/19/2018) — Fifty-six New York Army National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Queensbury-based 466th Area Medical Support Company are half-way through two weeks of training at Camp Shelby, Mississippi with the Louisiana National Guard's 256th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

The Solders left July 12 for the training, which ends on July 26.

The Soldiers are taking part in the Louisiana Infantry brigade's Exportable Combat Training Capability Exercise. These exercises test the ability of Soldiers to operate in a combat-like environment.

The 466th Soldiers are trained to provide medical support to brigade level units. During this exercise the New York Army National Guard Soldiers are treating simulated combat casualties as they would in a battlefield environment. They are also providing real-world medical support to Soldiers.
