Rochester resident Michael Rehbaum honored by New York Guard

Latham, NY (01/23/2020) — New York Guard member Michael Rehbaum, a Rochester resident, has been awarded the New York State Military Commendation Medal for his service in the state defense force.

Rehbaurm is a member of the New York Guard. The New York Guard is a volunteer force which works with the New York National National Guard and augments the New York Army and Air National Guard during state emergencies. Unlike the New York National Guard, New York Guard members are not part of the Army or the Air Force.

Rehbaum, who is the Director of Information Technology Services for the River Campus Libraries of the University of Rochester, joined the New York Guard in September 2017.

A specialist in the New York Guard, Rehbaum works as the Public Affairs specialist for the New York Guard's 10th Area Command. He helps produce media products telling the New York Guard story and has also assisted the New York National Guard Public Affairs Office.
