Rotterdam resident promoted to Major in the New York Army National Guard
Major Alisa Kupinski serves as Equal Opportunity Director for the 16,800- member New York National Guard
Latham, New York (07/14/2023) — New York Army National Guard Major Alisa Kupinski, a Rotterdam resident, was promoted to her current rank during a July 12, ceremony held at New York National Guard headquarters in Latham.
Kupinski, who is married to Army National Guard Captain Justin Kupinski, serves as the Equal Opportunity Director for the New York National Guard.
Kupinski was born in Vilnius Lithuania in 1986 and immigrated to New York City in 1999 with her mother in 1999.
Kupinski joined the New York Army National Guard in 2011 and was commissioned as a second lieutenant through Officer Candidate School at Fort Moore, Georgia in 2013. She was commissioned as quartermaster officer.
She has served as a company executive officer in the 369th Sustainment Brigade, as a Russian linguist, as member of the counterdrug task force, as a fuel operations officer for the Troy-based 42nd Infantry Division, and as a supply management officer for the New York Army National Guard.
She holds a bachelor's degree in theology from Hunter College.
Her military awards include the National Defense Service Ribbon, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Counterdrug Service Ribbon, the Armed Forces Service Medal, and the New York State Military Commendation Medal.
She and her husband have two children, Theodore, and William.
