Warrensburg Jr./Sr. High School Alumnus enlists in New York Air National Guard

Scotia, New York (02/04/2025) —

Major General Ray Shields, the adjutant general for the state of New York, announced that Warrensburg Jr. /Sr. High School alumnus Dylan Winchell has enlisted in the New York Air National Guard.

Winchell has signed up to become a member of the 109th Airlift Wing, which is based at Stratton Air National Guard base in Scotia. The wing flies the largest ski-equipped aircraft in the world which fly to Antarctica and Greenland.

Winchell will be assigned to the 109th Security Forces Squadron which is for ensuring the safety and security of Air Force personnel, resources, and facilities. Security forces Airmen perform law enforcement duties, protect military assets, and maintain order both on and off base.

Trevor Winchell, Dylan's older brother, also serves in the 109th Security Forces Squadron.
