Senior Airman Jonathan Magaletti, Amsterdam resident, named Airman of the Year for the 109th Airlift Wing

Stratton ANGB, NY (02/21/2020) — Senior Airman Jonathan Magaletti was named the 2020 Oustanding Airman of the Year for the 109th Airlift Wing, New York Air National Guard, where he serves as a Health Services Technician for the Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. He is responsible for all of the ground operations and coordination for the Aircrew.

Magaletti deployed in support of Operation FREEDOM SENTINAL, where he supported 83 different Aeromedical Evacuation missions, directed aircrew management and in-processed 372 aircrew members. He also streamlined the training plan for his career field and reduced the time it takes to be fully trained in the position by six months.

Magaletti is acitve in the community, last year he organized a hospital food drive to collect and distribute food to Montgomery County residents in need and volunteered for the Wishful Thinking Foundation.

Airmen are selected for this award based up superior leadership, job performance and personal achievements.
